Recharge & Refresh with creative escapes to NYC.
Our program starts on Sunday night with twilight drinks in Brooklyn, overlooking Manhattan, where you will meet your group and get to know your hosts Jeremy and Angie.
Then from Monday morning you’ll enjoy 21 hours of active learning provided by the city’s leading acting and art studios, a global innovation specialist and local business leaders – all while exploring and being inspired by one of the world’s great cities.
You’ll join our private group tour of New York’s iconic street art in Soho. You’ll attend an exclusive function with inspiring local creatives such as fashion designers, artists and actors. There will still be plenty of time to take advantage of the sporting, cultural and wellness activities and the many tasty culinary delights all over the city.
We will end the week with Friday evening drinks on the 24th floor terrace at the iconic New York Athletic Club. Founded in 1868, this private sporting and social club is in one of the best locations to soak up the amazing views of Central Park and reflect on the week that was.
If you come with an openness to have fun, learn and push your creative boundaries, you’ll leave a more authentic communicator and confident creator, inspired by new people and this iconic city.
Who is this for?
Our 5-day creative escapes are ideal if you want to have fun and:
- You’re looking to refresh, reinvigorate, and re-energise,
- You’d like a unique and inspiring holiday learning experience,
- You want a holistic approach to wellness – feeding your mind, body & spirit.
Our 5-day experience consists of three learning modules totalling 21 hours, exclusive events and time to explore.
Your three learning modules explained...
If you want to be a more authentic, more effective and a more persuasive communicator, then this is for you.
No acting experience needed, as you will be in a fun, creative and supportive environment. You will learn the techniques developed by the acclaimed American teacher Sanford Meisner, including the true art of listening, voice control, overcoming “stage fright” and authentic movement and timing.
You will work in groups, pairs and as a solo through some of his techniques including repetition exercises, door activities and there will be plenty of laughs as you create improvisations. The module culminates with filming a short, scripted scene (don’t forget to mention us at the Academy’s!).
This module is delivered by Maggie Flanigan Studio.
Painting & Drawing Classes
Stuck with the same old systems, processes and approach?
Do you want to tap into the right side of your brain to let your creative juices flow?
Painting and drawing provides you with a path to unlock and build your creative confidence. There is no right or wrong, just interpretation. The use of acrylic paint suits our approach, as it dries fast, enabling you to quickly layer your work.
Paintings will never look the same to you again – the colours, transitions, textures, perspective. Feel alive with your own creation while thinking about where to hang it when you get home.
Your new found creative freedom will come to life and unfold in different ways. You will be delighted to discover fresh approaches to tackle issues and opportunities and you will enjoy the confidence to explore.
This module is delivered by by The Art Studio NY.
Ideas, Inspiration & Innovation
Innovation is not just about technology and digital disruption, or autonomous vehicles and crypto currency. It’s about fresh ideas in all walks of life and changing engrained behaviors, so you can think differently at your home or work.
This module introduces you to the skills, support, spark and confidence to use your creativity to bring ideas to fruition.
During our exclusive private session, you will hear from an inspiring local business leader, as they share their story, whether from startups to multi-million dollar and global businesses.
Hear how ideas are sourced, developed and delivered. Techniques used include co design and design thinking, divergent and convergent thinking and then positioning and pitching. Let’s not forget pure passion and determination.
If you have any ideas and concepts you wish to share, they can be workshopped and we can help you take them to the next level.
This module is delivered by Jeremy Stone.
